‘The little pea… such a sexy vegetable! This vegetable is rich in vitamins, perfect for baby.
We all know canned peas with little carrots… let’s try to showcase them with other ingredients than carrots! This baby recipe will be particularly easy to make.
We’ll add a small potato to lighten the flavor of the pea.
Ricotta will be the magical ingredient of this recipe… it will lighten the texture of the puree and add a delicious taste: Yum!
Ham pairs well with peas, so it’s the meat I chose for this baby recipe.
This combination of ingredients will give us a wonderful puree! Here’s what we need to make this baby recipe: Creamy Pea Potato Ricotta Ham Puree (From 8 months, yields 2 portions of 180g (6.35 ounces) with these quantities):
- [adinserter block="11"]
- - 8 ounces (230g) fresh peas
- - 2.8 ounces (80g) peeled potato
- - 0.9 ounces (25g) ricotta cheese
- - 0.7 ounces (20g) ham
- - 1 small teaspoon of olive oil

Place it in our steamer basket and start cooking: 5 minutes in a pressure cooker or 8 minutes in a steamer. Let’s go!
Meanwhile, let’s prepare the peas. If they need to be shelled, roll up your sleeves and free them from their pods.
Then wash them and place them in the steamer basket once the potato is cooked. Let’s cook both of them: 6 minutes in a pressure cooker or 9 minutes in a steamer. Let’s go!
Once cooked, place our vegetables in the blender, add our olive oil, and blend with a little cooking water to make a smooth puree. If you don’t have a narrow enough blender, I recommend removing the pea skins by straining them through a sieve.
Gently add the ricotta to the puree to make it homogeneous.
You can separately blend the ham and add it to the puree at the end, which will give some texture to the baby puree. (If you prefer, feel free to blend the ham with the vegetables to obtain a smooth puree!)
I also recommend choosing ham with less salt for the baby.
The peas, potato with ricotta cheese and ham baby puree recipe (from 8 months) is now ready, and baby can enjoy!
Bon appétit, baby!
