This recipe is quite unique, and my baby loved it, so I’m delighted to share it with you!
Melon is an excellent, juicy fruit with a lot of flavor when chosen well. Mine came from the garden, yes, I was lucky enough to cook one from the garden, and it was delicious!
Melon is rich in vitamin C and carotene, with antioxidant properties. It also promotes intestinal transit, so avoid giving it to babies with colic. However, if your baby is constipated, this puree can be a great natural remedy! (Be careful not to choose an overripe melon. In the video of my recipe, you can see that I handled the melon first to check if it was suitable before dealing with the rest. Feel free to do as you wish!).
The cooked apple will soften the taste, and once the puree is refrigerated, the vanilla will release its aroma and add a significant flavor. Here, the baby loved it!
Here’s what you need to prepare this melon, apple, and vanilla puree recipe for your baby (From 6 months):
- [adinserter block="11"]
- - 1 small melon (not too ripe)
- - 1 Golden apple
- - 1 vanilla pod
Let’s start with the apple. Choose a Golden apple, which is perfect for purees. Wash the apple well, remove the core with the stem and seeds, and peel it. Slice it finely.
Steam the apple for 10 minutes (7 minutes under pressure if using a pressure cooker).
Meanwhile, let’s take care of the melon. Make sure it’s not too ripe; otherwise, the taste can be very strong and may put off the baby. And it won’t be ideal for their little stomachs either…
Cut the melon in half, remove all the small seeds, and collect as much flesh as possible. Set it aside.
Now let’s move on to the vanilla pod. Cut it in half lengthwise and scrape the seeds over 2 cm. Set them aside.
Once the apple is cooked, place it in the blender with the melon and vanilla seeds. Blend it!
Your melon, apple, and vanilla puree for baby is now ready. Place it in the refrigerator for about 2 hours to cool down and for the vanilla to release all its flavors.
Enjoy, baby!
