Recipe steps
Today, we’re introducing beef into baby’s meals!
Until now, when introducing meat from 6 months onward, we’ve chosen lean white meats like chicken, turkey, or veal. At around 7 months, it’s time to introduce beef, always in small, age-appropriate quantities.
Always make sure the meat is thoroughly cooked to avoid any unnecessary risks. Steaming is ideal, but I personally find that it dulls the flavor of red meat, so I prefer a dry pan-sear (no added fat) for just a few minutes.
September is still eggplant season, so let’s take advantage of it! Eggplant is rich in trace elements, vitamins, and fiber, great for baby and easy to digest. We’ll peel the skin to make digestion even easier.
And to finish: cream cheese (like The Laughing Cow®)! Kids love it. It softens the purée and adds a creamy touch. It’s a little cheese that can be given occasionally without worry, so let’s go for it!
Here’s what you’ll need for this baby purée with eggplant, ground beef, and cream cheese (makes 3 servings):
Ingredients
- 420g eggplant (peeled weight) → about 2 medium eggplants, peeled and diced
- 30g ground beef → about 1 oz cooked ground beef
- 1 portion (0.62 oz) of cream cheese (like The Laughing Cow®)
- 3 teaspoons of olive oil
Instructions

Make sure to pick a shiny one: that’s a good sign of freshness!
Cut off the top, peel it carefully to remove all the skin, then cut the eggplant in half. Try to remove as many seeds as possible, they’re a bit harder to digest. Don’t worry if a few are left!
Finally, cut the eggplant into small pieces.

Cooking
I cooked the eggplant in my pressure cooker (Cookeo) for 8 minutes.
If you’re steaming it, count around 12 minutes.
Make sure the eggplant is nice and tender when the cooking is done.

Make sure it’s fully cooked through.

At 7 months, it’s best to keep some texture, so don’t blend the purée until completely smooth.
At 8 months, you can even leave small chunks! The blending speed makes all the difference: use low speed for a chunky texture, high speed for a smoother result if desired.
Your eggplant, ground beef, and cream cheese purée is now ready, baby is going to love it!
Bon appétit, baby!
